Minnesota Renaissance
Festival
Sept. 5-7, 2025
Day 1 – Friday, September 5
Good morning and welcome aboard as we begin our travels to Minnesota. The St Paul Original Gangster Tour. Learn why Saint Paul was a center for bootlegging operations and criminal activities during the prohibition era and beyond. See where these criminals lived it up as they planned and executed some of the most nefarious crimes ever perpetrated in the upper Midwest. Learn about notorious hoodlums like John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, Alvin "Creepy" Karpis, Fred Barker, Arthur "Doc" Barker, and Ma Barker.
We’ll journey through the days when Saint Paul was not so saintly and corruption filled the streets! Next, we visit the Wabash Street Caves. This Historic Tour begins in the 1800s when the location was a silica mine. Then it travels through the time when it was a mushroom farm, and then developed as a restaurant, casino, and gangsters' hotspot during the 1920's prohibition era. Newspapers reported of an unsolved gangland murder at the casino. Some believe the caves are haunted by the murdered mobsters whose bodies were never found. Overnight is in St Paul, MN. (Evening Kickback Reception Included)

Day 2 – Saturday – September 6 - Minnesota Renaissance Festival
We start off our day with breakfast at the hotel and then we travel the short distance to Shokopee, MN for our day's activities. The Minnesota Renaissance Festival is an interactive outdoor event which focuses on recreating the look and feel of a fictional 16th Century "England-like" fantasy kingdom In1974. It moved to its current site in Shakopee, where it continues as one of the oldest and largest Renaissance festivals in the United States. It has played host to the early careers of such national acts as the magicians Penn & Teller and The Flying Karamazov Brothers juggling troupe.
On August 19, 1975, Penn & Teller did their first show together at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. Jason Mraz also worked as a pickle boy (a boy or man who sells pickles) early in his performance career. The festival features over 700 entertainers, 275 crafters, and 120 food booths. The Minnesota Renaissance Festival has grown to be one of the largest Renaissance Festivals in the United States, with an annual attendance of 300,000. Overnight will be in St Paul, MN. (Breakfast & Evening Kickback Reception Included)
Day 3 – Sunday, September 7 - Home
Enjoy breakfast this morning and then we begin our journey home. Along the way we’ll make a stop in Wabasha, MN at The National Eagle Center. Here, you can experience two floors of exhibits, which include a hands-on interactive area, connections to eagles, the land and the river by regional Dakota peoples, Masters of the Sky where you learn how to identify native raptors, the environment of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife Refuge, and the art and history of eagles in America.
